Tenor, conductor, producer, and director of the Froville Festival, the multifaceted Emiliano González Toro will be present next season at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, in Paris at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, at the Opéra Royal de Versailles, as well as the Hamburg Elbphilharmonie or the Teatro Real in Madrid, where he will perform Idomeneo conducted by René Jacobs. 

Emiliano González Toro has sung the great masterpieces of the 17th and 18th centuries with the most distinguished ensembles and conductors, including names such as Christie, Dantone, Haïm, Herreweghe, Jacobs, Marcon, Minkowski, Pichon, and Rousset.

In order to share his immense experience with the Italian Seicento with the public, Emiliano González Toro created the ensemble I Gemelli together with Mathilde Etienne. In 2019, I Gemelli made a remarkable debut in Paris at the Théâtre des Champs-Élyséeswith Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo, with Emiliano singing the lead role. Shortly thereafter, the Théâtre du Capitole de Toulouse also hosted this production for two evenings, and subsequently, a similarly acclaimed version was performed at the Arsenal de Metz.

In 2021, he conducted and sang the lead role in Il Ritorno d’Ulisse in Patria before tackling L’Incoronazione di Poppea in May 2023, which he conducted at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris, at the Victoria Hall in Geneva, and at the Arsenal de Metz.

The recording of Il Ritorno d’Ulisse in Patriawas awarded the Diapason d’or, a Choc de Classica, and a Diamant d’Opéra by Opéra Magazine.

Emiliano González Toro’s recent engagements include concerts and recordings with Raphaël Pichon and the Ensemble Pygmalion and with Andrea Marcon and La Cetra Barockorchester. In the 2024-25 season, he will perform the title role in Idomeneo conducted by René Jacobs with the Freiburger Barockorchester. He will also go on tour with Händel’s La Resurrezionewith Le Concert de la Loge and Julien Chauvin, Vivaldi’s Il Giustino with Accademia Bizantina and Ottavio Dantone. With his ensemble I Gemelli he will be going on two tours with Monteverdi’s Vespro and Francesca Caccini’s Alcina, in which he will take part as soloist and conductor. He will visit venues such as the Hamburger Elbphilharmonie, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Opéra Royal de Versailles, Capitole de Toulouse, Opéra de Lausanne, Teatro Real in Madrid, and the Gran Teatre del Liceu, and Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona.

Additionally, he will star in the new opera Voyage d’Automne by Bruno Mantovani at the Opéra du Capitole de Toulouse, conducted by Pascal Rophé and directed by Marie Lambert-Le Bihan.

His latest recordings have been released on the Gemelli Factory label and include Il Ritorno d’Ulisse in Patria, and the upcoming Misa Criolla by Ariel Ramírez together with Alain Pérez and The Amazing Keystone Big Band.
