In 2024, the soprano will also perform at venues such as the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, the Isarphilharmonie in Munich, the Victoria Hall in Geneva, Tonhalle in Zurich, the Wiener Staatsoper, the Auditorio Nacional de Música in Madrid, as well as festivals including Schwetzingen, Melk, Klosters, Gstaad, and the Bayreuth Baroque Opera Festival.
On January 1st, the soprano Nuria Rialparticipated in the New Year’s concert at the Berliner Philharmonie, where, alongside the RIAS Kammerchor and AKAMUS Berlin, conducted by Justin Doyle, she performed music by Handel and Bach.
Highlights from the 23-24 season for the Catalan soprano include collaborations with Dorothee Oberlinger and Ensemble 1700, presenting the program “Follia” at the SWR Schwetzingenfestival; with Emiliano González Toro and I Gemelli, she will perform Monteverdi’s Vesproat the Victoria Hall in Geneva; there is also a reunion with Giovanni Antonini and Il Giardino Armonico for Haydn’s Orlando Paladino at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona and the Teatro Real in Madrid. Nuria has also received a new invitation from Cecilia Bartoli, with whom she previously collaborated at the Salzburg Festival, to participate in one of her “Farinelli & Friends” galas at the Wiener Staatsoper, alongside stars like Varduhi Abrahamyan, Ann Hallenberg, Anne Sophie von Otter, Julie Fuchs, Max Emanuel Cencic, Rolando Villazón, and Bartoli herself.
In the orchestral ambit, noteworthy collaborations include performances with the NDR Orchester at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, presenting a program featuring music by Caldara, Handel, and Vivaldi, as well as the Sinfonieorchester Münster and Golo Berg, with whom she will sing Mahler’s Fourth Symphony.
Nuria Rial will also collaborate intensively with Spanish ensembles such as Fahmi Alqhai and Accademia del Piacere, with whom she won her last OPUS KLASSIK award in 2020, and with whon she recently visited the Oude Muziek Utrecht, next June will perform at the Melk Barocktage, and making her debut at the Bayreuth Baroque Opera Festival with them next season. She will also collaborate with Josetxu Obregon and La Ritirata, giving performances in Basel, Madrid, Valencia, and Oviedo.
Throughout the season, Nuria has given various Liederabend through Spain of her program which pays tribute to Victoria de los Ángeles alongside pianist Rubén Fernández Aguirre. Looking ahead to summer, Nuria has been announced as a participant in festivals such as Klosters Music and Gstaad Menuhin Festival.
Her latest recording, alongside Julia Schröder and the Kammerorchester Basel for Deutsche Harmonia Mundi, has been released recently. The album focuses on unpublished works by Italian Baroque composers such as Colonna, Perti, Pollarolo, and Torelli. It has already been recognized as the Album of the Week by NDR Kultur and nominated for the ICMA Awards.
